How To Cook Bulgogi Flavored Kebabs
I know I have been a terrible blogger lately. I can’t seem to be able to find time to sit down in front of my desktop anymore! But I am going to try and manage my time better so I can keep up with this blog that I love so much.
Today, want to share one of my favorite recipes. Well, to be honest, it’s not really a “recipe” since I use a bottled sauce. I love homemade Bulgogi flavored Korean BBQ, but I use store bought sauce a lot of times. A lot of people ask me how I make Korean BBQ sauce but it can be a lot of work sometimes, you know with having to grate a whole pear, ginger, garlic and other things. But I’ve been using this sauce for years and the result is always amazing.
CJ is a pretty good brand in Korea. I like to add crushed garlic, chopped green onions, sliced onions, etc and marinade the meat in the fridge for as long as you’d like, up to 24 hours. Here’s a link to get them, if you’d like to try it. CJ Bulgogi Marinade Korean BBQ Sauce, 29.63 Ounce Bottles (Pack of 4) Note; I am NOT part of CJ or affiliated with the company whatsoever. This is MY opinion of the sauces and I am just a big fan of these!)
Bulgogi is usually thinly sliced rib eye meat but for this, I used normal tritip meat. I cut it into bite sizes along with some squash, zucchini, and bell peppers. You don’t need to marinade the meat to make kebabs. Just season the meat and veggies with a little bit of salt and pepper. And set it aside and prepare the grill. And place each piece into Kebab metal sticks or wooden sticks, whatever you prefer.
My husband does all the grilling for me. I am not really good at getting the grill ready. You can either make Korean BBQ sauce or pour the CJ sauce into a bowl. You will need a brush.
Place the kebabs on your grill and brush them with the Korean BBQ sauce thoroughly, on both sides. As you grill them, keep turning the kebabs often, brushing them with the sauce every time. My husband likes to turn and brush them a lot of times, with a lot of sauce. The sauce is sweet and delicious.
